Turbo-molecular pumps are high vacuum pumps that are used in a very wide array of applications. They utilize rapidly spinning rotors that are composed of angled blades. These blades impart momentum to gas molecules in the direction of the exhaust. Turbo pumps can be used with both clean as well as corrosive processes.
